An ae mark names the day it closes
Without a close day, a reader cannot tell whether the mark is still in use.
An ae-mark sheet carries four lines: what it covers, what it leaves out, the day it was written, and the day it closes. After the close day, the sheet leaves use. A bow line uses a writing day. A sewn quire does not invent one master date to replace each sheet’s own close day. Calling the close day a delivery date or a license term would turn the note into a service we do not offer. This note does not sell a typeface, and it does not take on physical binding.
All four lines are present.
Past the close day, the sheet stops.
Other sheets keep their own dates.
Do not call the close day a delivery date.
